What The Repubs Should've Said

The Republican convention went very well, at least according to the polls and ratings. This convention could be the catalyst of a McCain presidency BUT they barely made an attempt to take back Congress. They kept Bush at arms length for fear of tainting themselves with his low approval ratings, and that is understandable. But what boggles my mind is why they did not play up the fact that this Congress has the lowest approval EVER!

Here's some facts that they should have pounded into the ground:

-Since 2006,when the dems took over, the price of oil has skyrocketed with gasoline climbing from an avg of $2.19 to over $4 a gallon
-the unemployment rate has risen from 4.5% to over 6%
-the DOW JONES plummeted from record highs to record lows in less than 2 years
-Americans were buying homes at a record pace and now 1% of homes are in foreclosure
-and before Sarah Palin entered the picture, the subject that galvanized conservatives and republicans, was the fact that the democrat leadership went on vacation while the republicans were wanting a vote on offshore drilling. Where was the video of Nancy Pelosi shutting the lights off on the republicans who camped out in the chambers chanting,"DRILL HERE. DRILL NOW. PAY LESS!"
-Where was the video showing Harry Reid declaring that,"This war is lost. The Surge is a failure." before the surge of troops had even been completed.
-Where was the footage of Nancy Pelosi meeting with Syrian dictator Basir Assad, bad-mouthing the President.
-Why didn't we see the video of Jack Murtha accusing Marines (who were later acquitted) of murdering innocent Iraqis before they were even charged.

All the pundits and prognosticators are expecting the dems to win a veto proof majority in the Nov. elections.

Think about that for a second. We could have the most liberal senator, Barack Obama as president, with the 3rd most liberal senator as vp in Joe Biden, with a veto proof Congress led by Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi.

The republicans have 2 months to make this case. They better get on the ball.

This is exactly what I've been saying all along!!! This overtly partisan Congress seems to care nothing for the welfare of the American people. It's all about advancing their party's agenda and gridlocking every sane effort to promote the peace, prosperity, safety and sovereignty of our country.
