I'll be honest, the economy, stock markets, and mortgages are not my forte'. I don't know whether to be scared or not. I don't know whether to be for or against the bailout or not. My "conservative" instincts think of it as corporate welfare, but I'm afraid of what will happen if we don't.
It's infuriating that we find ourselves in this position. How did we get here? Where were John McCain, Barack Obama, President Bush, & the Congress while the mismanagement of these institutions were occuring. How did they let this sneak up on us? Actually, some of these people tried to warn us. Power Line has a great article today how, as recent as 2003, President Bush and the republicans in Congress tried to create a new agency that would oversee and supervise Freddie Mae and Fannie Mac, instead of leaving it with congress. An outside investigator found that under congress' supervision Freddie Mac manipulated its accounting to mislead investors.
Barney Frank said at the time,''These two entities -- Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac -- are not facing any kind of financial crisis,'' said Representative Barney Frank of Massachusetts, the ranking Democrat on the Financial Services Committee. ''The more people exaggerate these problems, the more pressure there is on these companies, the less we will see in terms of affordable housing."
The eeeeevil FOX NEWS has been the news outlet to give an accurate account of how this crisis came to be
Obama has on his campaign,Jim Johnson, former FANNIE MAE CEO and has sought advice from another FANNIE MAE CEO, Franklin Raines. Franklin Raines was forced out after he was being investigated for cooking the books, which it turns out he did. The Obama campaign has strongly resisted the charge from the McCain camp that Raines is an advisor but they do admit that they sought advice from him on mortgage and housing issues. Now imagine for a moment that Ken Lay, the disgraced former CEO of Enron, was still alive. Now let's imagine that the McCain campaign had sought advice from him on energy issues. Should McCain be criticized for that? Should Obama make an issue of that? ABSOLUTELY! They may have good advice but so what! They're both crooks!
John McCain has suspended his campaign and asked for the first debate to be postponed, so he can go to D.C. to vote on the bailout and try and solve this crisis. Obama has denied the request to postpone the debate and will not suspend his campaign. He feels the televised debate is more important than actually using his power as a senator to lead and fix our country.
McCain will be accused of doing this as a stunt. They may be right. But at least his stunt is an attempt to lead. Obama is more interested in giving the appearance of being a leader and a new kind of politician, than actually being either one.

Gaffes You Can Believe In
Let me put my A-political, non-partisan hat on for a second. If Obama and Biden want to make it to the White House they need to stop talking about Sarah Palin. Like Obama's "lipstick on a pig" remark
(ignore the Hillary portion of this. It's from a few months back)
(It would probably be best to stop talking, period. As evidenced here when he asked a man in a wheelchair to stand up. )
God that was funny, but I do actually feel bad for him. He recovered well but DAMN JOE!
So then today he says that Hillary might have made a better candidate than him!
Since the Obama/Biden campaign is in a tailspin over the Palin smears and "Lipstick on a pig" remark I think they may be preparing for Joe Biden to step down from the ticket and offer it to Hillary, possibly in exchange for paying off her 20 million dollars in campaign debt that she was asking Obama to pay when she dropped out. I think they may be sending out some feelers to see how that plays, and more importantly, see how if Hillary is receptive.
Almost 3 months ago, I said that McCain should pick Sarah Palin as his running mate. No one knew who she was and if I had had a blog out then I would be seen as a GENIUS!
So I am saying this now,
JOE BIDEN WILL STEP DOWN AS VP CANDIDATE TO BE REPLACED BY HILLARY
Judging from Team Obama's statements I do have to question their I.Q.'s
If Biden does leave and Hillary joins the ticket ,it will be so obvious that they're trying to say SEE, SEE WE'RE NOT SEXIST! BUT is it too late.
Political theater at its' finest!

Of course I could be totally wrong but I want to take the chance that I might look really, really smart
Joe Biden has always been his own worst enemy. He blew is presidential bid back in the 80's when he got caught plagiarizing British Labour leader Neal Kinnock's speeches, among others. He is bright and occasionally brilliant, but he has a tendency to let his mouth run away from his brain and say some outrageous things such as:
-When he was speaking to an American-Indian supporter and said,
"you cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian-In January of 2007, shortly after his 2nd bid for the presidency began, Joe was attempting to compliment Obama when, as reported in the Washington Post, he said,
accent.” L.A. Times, Feb. 4, 2007 "
"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and
bright and clean and a nice-looking guy, I mean, that's a storybook, man."
-He's also had to apologize for claiming to having three degrees instead of two and when he tells a voter in New Hampshire that, "I think I have a much higher IQ, than you do."
Judging from Team Obama's statements I do have to question their I.Q.'s

Hello, John McCain here. Hello...Hello...
After last nights amazing speech, even liberals and liberal journalists, acknowledged that Sarah Palin gave a great speech, but they throw in that she had a great speechwriter. (Amazingly, her teleprompter went out and she had to wing it) Kennedy, Roosevelt, Reagan, Bush and his holiness Barack Obama, use speechwriters but that wasn't mentioned after he gave his 'Sermon on The Mount' in Denver. Earlier today Team Obama attacked her and her speech.
What's funny is that anyone associated with Joe Biden, would attack anyone elses speech. Joe Biden of course wrecked his bid for the presidency in the 80's by plagiarizing Labor Party leader, Neal Kinnock. Not once before, during, or after Biden's acceptance speech at the Dem convention, did any of these so-called journalists and pundits mention this fact.
I look forward to the debates with great anticipation

Vetting Process=You're a white trash, dirty whore
This is my first post.I'm still learning all this new-fangled "internets".I hope to be well versed in the blogosphere before too long and I will take any advice. Now on to the Big Shoe....
Republican Vice-Presidential nominee, Sarah Palin, has been the subject of countless articles and interviews since John McCain picked her last week as his running mate. The media is foaming at the mouth and is in a rabid feeding frenzy trying to come up with dirt on Gov. Palin and her family. Now it's no secret that the Mainstream Media (MSM) is solidly liberal and openly pulling for Obama. But the way they have behaved the last 5 days is shocking.
Her Down's Syndrome baby, her 17 year old daughter, her husband's 22 year old DUI, her Christian beliefs, her anti-abortion views, the firing of a state trooper, have all become fodder for the media and the Left to try and smear Palin and McCain. Now,they'll say they're just critiquing the "vetting process" and try and figure out why John McCain chose someone so inexperienced as his running mate.
When you hear "Vetting Process" that is code for "dirt we are desperately trying to find because we can't stand the fact of the possibility that the first female vice-president is a right-wing, gun toting,anti-choice,fundamentalist bible thumper but we must hide it by questioning how she was vetted!"
Since Barack Obama first announced his candidacy in Feb of 2007, these same media outlets and so-called journalists have not spent near the amount of energy and journalistic drive pursuing or "vetting" the nominee of the Democrat party, than they have in the 5 days since Palin was picked as McCain's running mate.
You can disagree with her politics. You can tout Obama and Biden as being what's best for this country, but the vicious, sexist B-S, being spewed about Palin and her family is reprehensible and beyond the pale. This is going to come back and bite the dems in their collective asses.
